Cinema Vanguard is a leading independent cinema community established in London in 2024, bringing together people who care deeply about the big-screen experience.

We focus on IMAX, Dolby Cinema, 70mm, 35mm, VistaVision, premium formats, repertory programming and the craft of theatrical presentation. From projection and aspect ratios to sound, seating, venues and special screenings, our community is built for people who want to understand cinema as well as enjoy it.

This Discord server is our open discussion space, where members can talk about new releases, upcoming screenings, technical specifications, collecting, programming and cinemas across the UK and beyond. It is also a place to share useful ticket information, contribute to community-powered alerts and connect with other cinema-goers who share the same enthusiasm.

Cinema Vanguard began as a small WhatsApp group created to help people discover screenings they might otherwise miss. It grew through fast ticket alerts, detailed format information and a shared belief that films deserve to be seen in the best possible conditions. Today, our wider network includes thousands of followers and members across Discord, WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook and Patreon.

Our full-time ticket alert service concluded in July 2026, but major alerts may still be shared when possible by the team and trusted community members. The focus now is broader: building stronger conversations, creating more original content, offering behind-the-scenes access, running giveaways and developing more opportunities for members to meet and experience cinema together.

We also hope to build closer relationships with cinemas, studios, distributors, filmmakers and brands so that the community can benefit from screenings, talks, collaborations and special events. One of our long-term ambitions is to create our own small Cinema Vanguard community festival centred on the films, formats and venues we love.

Cinema Vanguard is independent and community-led. We are not officially affiliated with IMAX, Dolby, the BFI or any cinema chain, studio or distributor unless clearly stated.
